Moeyo! Akibajin Blog has a review online today of Art Storm’s Samurai Spirits Nakoruru PVC, in which he sacrifices the structural integrity the kit to find out what lies beneath. The kit is obviously not meant to be cast off, as the broken shards in this picture clearly show; she has to be physically torn apart at the waist and the clothing has to be pried away from the binding glue beneath. The prize for all this violence? The chest part is “lightly shaded”, according to Moeyo’s testimony (no visual evidence thanks to the censorship). This isn’t a procedure that seems at all recommendable unless you’re confident in your reconstructive surgery skills or have a spare copy of the kit, but it answers the question posed last month when we found out her release was delayed. If you’re interested in picking up the kit and would like to support HD, you can find her in stock at Play Asia. (no more)
Poor Nako. ;_;
That said, I think I just found my Christmas gift to me.
Sniff, sniff…….:( poor wittle figure…..she was taken at such a young age.
Oh well!!
Big thanx to Moeyo! Akibajin Blog and their ability to shun feelings of mint condition to get down to the nitty gritty and see if thar be boobies and nipples.
I salute you!
old chinese saying:
“kill one man to warn a 100 men”
this will save some other figures
I haven’t been so appalled since I first heard of figure bukake! This is totally not worth the effort or funds if you wanted to purchased a cast-off figure!!
No… Nakoruru…! *sobs quietly in a corner*
Just have to say this:
Some characters are not meant to be castoffable. Nakoruru’s one of them. Well endowed, yes. But I don’t want to see her posing in the nude.
Also, a question:
Why is there a need to paint the body, add shading and paint the white panties when you know the figure is fully clothed and not castoffable? Won’t the manufacturer save quite a bit of money by not doing so? Strange huh?

I personally think that as long as a character is of age then castoff or not should really depend on the sculpt.
As far as the painting things that purchasers are not likely to see, I’m going with I’d rather them be in the business of doing too much work on the figures as opposed to too little. Prices aren’t gonna just start going down one day even if quality did, so I’m for keeping quality high across the board. It should make you feel more confident in their next figure that is supposed to be castoff.

I thought Nakoruru is below 18 years old. (Hence considered underaged in almost all countries nowadays)
Anyway, I guess you have a point that they’re keeping the quality high. From this piece and Mizuki, I rate Art Storm’s quality is up there with the best of the PVC figure makers. And I do like the flesh tones they use. I will use it as a reference for the figures I paint now. 8)
