The official Goodsmile page updated this morning with the announcement of a Baek Changpo PVC coming from Max Factory. She’s a character from arcade game Senko no Ronde (æ—‹å…‰ã®è¼ªèˆž), first announced back at Wonder Festival this past summer but having seen nary a sample shot of her since then she dropped off the radar for awhile… She’s coming to us at in April of ’08 at 5,800 yen, 1/8 scale (14 cm tall) and with what’s being dubbed the “Choi Polo System”, which apparently in this case refers to the castoff ability of her transparent one-piece dress but nothing beyond that. With her up at Goodsmile preorders should be opening soon! (no more)
She looks like a good buy imho. Although there’s no castoffables beyond the transparent dress, still look kawaii to me. I’ll keep this one watched too! :3
She looks cute as hell……but I’m looking at dropping the hammer and get the AppleSeed dolls so my belt is going to be realllllllly tight.
SELL OUT! 8( I thought the POLO range is meant for fully castoffable figures (see the last 2 POLO releases so far).
Guess I will wait for final reviews first before buying. Anyway, I’m really short on cash now.

Wow! You ordered those Appleseed Dolls! Yeah. They look great (the manga versions, NOT the CGI version).

The POLO System line is a full line of chest castoffs (with the possible exception of Kokonoe Rin, whose shirt you have to break to remove). This is the first in a new line of Choi POLO figures, with “choi” (ã¡ã‚‡ã„) meaning “a bit”; a bit castoffable, presumably. Also a bit of a letdown, I agree. :/
I am all over this one! Thanks for the head’s up!
They are the ones from the new movie—-I think they look cool as hell. I’m an old school Shirow fan and seeing these new figures/dolls just blows my minds.
Expensive as hell……so does anyone need a Kidney? Anyone want a lung?? Ear? Eye?
Some fingers?? Fingers, hell I got 10 of those-take some away and then I won’t have that many smudges on my new toys….LOL.
I’m the future bitch of Mastercard.
looks cute, and like it might lean.

Her name’s actually Baek Changpo; she’s Korean.
It’d be nice if Goodsmile make a Cuilan figure as well, since they make a nice pair. Though I doubt it would have cast-off – those not familiar with Senko no Ronde can guess why (or cheat and use Google).

Thanks for the clarification. Goodsmile’s page listed her romaji as “Pec Champo” and I went with that without investigating further; a quick dive deeper into the game’s official site confirms your statement. It’s a pity Japanese lacks the syllablary necessary to accurately represent Korean (or English, for that matter – I doubt “Baek Changpo” perfectly captures the nuances of the original Korean either).
The fact that her name is spelled in Kanji further camouflages her origins… confusing stuff for the casual investigator. Thanks again for pointing out the inaccuracy.

Thanks for the correction. Missed out on the word ‘CHOI’. 8(

Just a clarification: I find the Hot Toys Appleseed dolls hot and definitely better than the one from Tomy with the doll-like stringy hair.(HLJ list it as CGI version)
Just saw this listed as Pec Champo at Hobby Search. I’m a fan of the game since it came over as War Tech: Senko no Ronde, so I may pick this one up.
I loved her from the minute I saw her AGES ago and can’t believe I’ll actually own her!! She should be coming tomorrow if the postal system don’t let me down!! UP1 were quick with GSC Lucy Misora, so I hope the same for Pec Champo!! So cute!!
