The 恐ろしい娘　is really 恐ろしいくKawaiku te Moe jini shisou and I can not believe that I did not know her until a friend said that he ordered it. The Heisei Democracy is expanding at the rate of the universe and it makes it impossible to be on-top of everything. The Mainichi Junk is fabulous Shingo, I must say. ^^V

If you’re even more of a stickler you could say that the statement “In her first two days up for preorder Goodsmile’s Hatsune Miku Nendoroid sold over 10,000 units” does not contradict the statement you just made (and I am just such a stickler, perhaps I should remove the pungent stalk vegetable from my ass).

A bit of wiki surfing reveals that ネギ does indeed translate better as “scallion” and the artistic depictions of the ネギ more closely resemble a scallion than a leek. I suspect the reason for all of this botanical miscasting is due to the euphonious quality of the word “leekspin” more than a desire to intentionally misrepresent the root vegetable at hand; if it was called “scallionspin” I’m guessing the meme would never have gotten off the ground.

Hatsune Miku sold 10000 units in 1 1/2 days, actually, if you’re a stickler for that sort of things. One of the only Nendoroid I’ve actually bothered preordering.

Also, is that a leek in her hand, or a scallion?
