We’ve already scooped the bulk of what was new in this month’s issue of Hobby Japan, but after getting my hands on an actual copy of the magazine last night I noticed a few other odds and ends that might be of interest. Includes updates from Witchblade, Kimikiss, Code Geass, Queen’s Blade, Bible Black, and Nitro+ character designer Niθ; details below:
- We have confirmation of a PVC version of Orchid Seed‘s Witchblade Shiori first unveiled at the Miyazawa Model Exhibition last week; she’ll be coming in March (July?) at 6,800 yen and 1/6 scale (1/7 scale?), 23 cm tall. No word on her castoff potential yet.
- Word is also in that a sukumizu Futami Eriko figure from Kimikiss will accompany the next volume of Champion Red Ichigo, due out on December 5th;
- The new Bible Black Imari that we saw at Miyazawa is not actually from C-Works or Tinykid so it may stand a chance of decent quality (she’s due out in March at 5,040 yen from a new brand called Miyabiya);
- Nitro+ character designer Niθ is teaming up with Kotobukiya and TV show Plamo Tsukurou Custom to create an original PVC figure;
- And news that the next Queen’s Blade Bitoshi Gaiden will feature the F.S illustrated Menace.

Great news about Shiori I cant wait for some painted pics.
Those tits looks phenomenal on her. Can’t wait.
Hmm, Shiori looks tempting! The new Imari figure looks better than the C-Works version too! Looking forward to the pics of the painted prototypes… ^_^
In Mar 2007? God. My wallet’s gonna bleed even more. Already got alter saber, needa and miku coming that month. :(
Still, can’t wait for Shiori and Imari completed prototypes to appear. Hoping they’ll be carried by international sellers too. 8D
I am getting sooo poor with so many figures being released! @.@
Second that Cloudkun. >_<
Hmm, on the last pic, I spot an article about Queens Blade game. When it will be out? Which platform?
>>Exiled_Gundam
From what I can make out It’s a cellphone game being release on the NTT Docomo network on December 6th.
We’ve discussed the Queen’s Blade cell phone game a bit here in the past, but I won’t be reporting on it in detail unless / until I get a phone with hardware that can actually play it. ;_;
Anyone know how well Witchblade is doing as a property in Japan?

Witchblade’s success in Japan has been limited, though the figures have done relatively well. It seems to be a show more appreciated for its component parts (the character designs, voice acting, and some bits of the animation) more than for its overall plot or production value.
I’m guessing Dragonaut is headed for the same reception…

damn. Guess there won’t be any sidestory to continue the witchblade francise then… 8(

Yeah, I’d say further Witchblade anime is a pretty unlikely prospect. Dragonaut is basically Witchblade II (from a visual perspective at least), so I’m not too disappointed at the lack of a sequel…

Thanks. Guess I will buy the Dragonaut HD-DVD/bluray when they finally appear. I’m too much in love with the character designs to stop. Guess, there’s a new name to add to my Satoshi/Obari masa-mune character designer list. 8D
