On the action figure side of things this morning we have word of the official preorder opening for the first ever general release Figma action figure (HD coverage here and here), Nagato Yuki from Suzumiya Haruhi no Yuuutsu. She’s scheduled to hit store shelves on February 14th, 2008, at 2,500 yen retail and 13.5 cm tall, and if you’d like to support HD you can preorder her right now at Play Asia. In other news, Amazon opened preorders today for its limited edition Revoltech Danboo cardboard robot action figure from Yotsubato!. It’s just like the regular version, only with the Amazon logo plastered all over it… the regular edition goes for 2,205 yen with release on December 1st, and is available at Play Asia if you’d rather not have corporateness with your cute yet menacing robot overlords. (no more)
Amazon.jp says they’re not shipping the limited Danboo outside Japan.
Alas they are not; Amazon.jp doesn’t ship figures outside Japan (unless they’re bundled with limited edition manga releases and therefore classified as manga). Your best option for picking it up is likely via proxy.
Hmm…another Japanese company that turns away clients who come knocking at their doors. And they are wondering why Japan is still in a recession/zero growth period after almost 2 decades. :/
Really, at this rate, I’m tempted to boycott some of these silly Japanese companies.
Anywho…
The Figma line looks pretty good. And because I want the Haruhi figure they had shown, I am actually thinking of getting the limited edition set.
(Then again, that might be possible since I bought both Haruhi and Yuki’s Sega EX PVCs.)
