Akiba Hobby represented last night with a review of a post-production PVC sample of Yamato‘s Cobra-Kai sculpted Dynamite Keikaku Kanu Unchou figure from Ikkitousen. Overall production quality is looking great, but one possible cause for concern is what seems to be the thicket of bangs now covering her face. They were there in moderate profusion before, but now it looks like she’s staring out from the mouth of a blue-fanged Tyrannosaurus Rex with very bad orthodontics. Comparison shots below:

Akiba Hobby’s PVC sample review
It’s impossible to tell whether this affects the entire PVC run or just the sample Akiba Hobby received, but regardless I don’t see it as too large a stumbling block for the kit; one that if necessary could be remedied with a bit of minimal heating and bending.
With the emergence of a PVC sample it seems shipping is just around the corner (she’s officially scheduled for release in December), so this is a good time to get in a last-minute preorder before she vanishes entirely. If you’d like to support HD Play Asia has her up for preorder at a very favorable price (cheaper than both HLJ and HS!!), and J-List has her available as well.
She still looks ok to me, what matters the most is the final production of the figurine though I have the slightest doubt of the Yamato normal practices of having botch worked of end products. btw Shingo, according to Akiba Hobby’s site, the last pic shows an additional arms with stick to poke her *assets*, is her *assets* squeeze-able? :)
Man…..this is one sweet looking figure. I’m glad I got the re-cast, but man….I really really want this one.

Nothing we’ve been told thus far would indicate any kind of flexibility in her chest region; the stick that comes with the kit is just a limited edition gimmick as far as I know.
Well, I wasn’t too big a fan of the figure anyway, but let’s see where this goes. Keeping preorder open just in case.
Ack! What’s with the abundance of hair bangs? I really like the ero look on Kanu’s face, so the extra bangs are somewhat of a downer…
Still love her! Just wondering: is her head too small? not that this really matters ;)
another Toushirou masterpiece in the making.
Here are a lot of images from September to compare the akibahobby images with:
http://www.moeyo.com/2007/09/post_3578.html
When I saw those pictures I thought that she would have soft breast too. But so far I have not seen real proof of it. For example you could find pictures of Sanae that show that her breasts are squizable. No such images for Kannu yet!
I’m getting this purely because it’s a Cobra-Kai piece. It being a Ikkitosen character is just a coincidence for me.
Ever since his work of the laid-back Kiyori, I just love his sculpts of various anime/manga characters with DD size additions. :D
Definitely keeping my pre-order, even if I have to live on bread and butter for the next couple of months. :)

I’m hoping it’s just an improperly bent piece of PVC and not a design decision. We’ll see when she hits shelves and more reviews start coming out…
>>Nirodha
I think it looks fine, though there are plenty of distractions to keep my attention away from little details like the bangs or overall head size. :3

Heartily agreed! I fervently hope his recently completed fundoshi girl is scheduled for PVC release at some point…

An important difference between the item moeyo is reviewing there, which is the same one I photographed at Wonder Festival, is that that is the resin prototype and not a finished production model PVC. Or maybe you’re implying that, sorry if that’s the case.
I’m almost as positive as I can possibly be that she doesn’t have any sort of soft chest gimmick going on, though I guess we won’t have absolute proof until the figure is released.

Instant ramen for me… ;_; it’s hard to be an otaku sometimes, but there are higher goals than mere nutrition!
>>Shingo
Agree on all counts.
Still, if you want better nutrition on a budget, I recommend whole wheat bread, butter, jam, soy bean curd and fresh green vegetables.
I don’t recommend instant ramen every day. Too much MSG and salt. Not healthy in the long run.
(I don’t know what’s cheap in Japan, but in Singapore, spinach is my vegetable of choice. Cheapest of the green vegetables and high in iron. :)) In Japan, I think seaweed is affordable. It’s also nutritious. And it already taste salty, so you can save on buying salt. :)
p.s. as for fresh fruits, after watching some Japanese weekly documentary, I cannot think of any fruit that’s even affordable in Japan. :(

I haven’t had a bowl of instant ramen in awhile, actually… there’s a great (fresh) ramen place that opened near my house recently and since I started going there the instant stuff pales by comparison. I just use it as a handy metric for the sort of food budget I’m on right now. ^^;;
I never buy fruit here, it’s insane. I do eat a lot of salad when I can, though. Leeks have many delicious uses other than spinning!

Thanks for the heads up on the fundoshi woman. If the PVC is as good as the resin kit, I’m definitely ordering a pair.
I will use my favourite word to describe a woman on her: VOLUPTUOUS
WOW! Curves Galore! :D
