We first reported on Clayz’s foray into the world of Alice Soft eroge Beat Angel Escalayer back in September, and news is in from Amiami this evening that the game’s heroine now walks among us – in preorder form, at least. Clayz’s Escalayer PVC represents at 1/6 scale (26 cm tall) and 7,665 yen retail, with release expected in January of next year; the sculpt is from juggernaut craftsman Miyakawa Takeshi (Amiami search), and while I don’t see it offering much competition to Alter’s version this will be a nice alternative for Escalayer fans out there. (no more)
At first look, it looks superbly nice, but when I visit Amiami’s site, seems that the paint work isn’t as nice to the high quality Alter’s. Though I can credit to the sexy legging though. Guess I’ll pass on this… unless shingo, any comments on clayz work? Are they good in any sense?
It really is nice, but there’s plenty of other things Takeshi Miyagawa’s made that would be nicer to see (namely Saber casual and Rin in maid’s outfit).

The only Clayz figure I have is their Saber (standard blue dress version), but based on that and what I’ve seen of their other PVCs I’d say they’re in the low to mid-tier in terms of production quality. I wouldn’t recommend them unless you really like the sculpt or choice of subject matter, but that’s just my personal opinion.

Agreed, there are a lot of other Miyakawa kits I’d like to see made into PVC. It seems he’s focusing more on resin and limited edition releases than on the Clayz brand these days. :/
Yeah, it sucks greatly too! I just perused my Replicant #26 (for the thousandth time – I only have it and #1 to check), and I’d love to see his take on Tamaki Kousaka – the one with the open shirt and stuff. It’s nice he’s still doing the occasional one for mass distribution, but fans are surely not happy with limiteds (even if they’ll buy them, they’ll still wish they were readily available)…
it looks good from far away, but the quality is poor. too bad, i like the pose, size, and character. hope another figure will be made.
I agree that the paintwork (trimmings) are not exceptional when compared to recent offerings like Yamato’s Rumi-devil type.
Still these are prototypes only, and I’ll pass judgement when the public mass-produced versions are out. However, this mean I won’t be pre-ordering Clayz Angel which I did for Yamato’s Rumi. :)
