Word is in from Akiba Blog today that Solid Theater, makers of the stationery-themed bishoujo Play Stationery figure line, has received permission from the publisher of Kodomo no Jikan to create a Play Stationery series based on the manga and TV anime‘s three main heroines, Kokonoe Rin, Kagami Kuro, and Usa Mimi. The new series will be called Play Stationery 3(rd Graders) with Kodomo no Jikan, and Rin will be based on the original pencil sharpener figure, Kuro will be based on the eraser case, and Mimi will be based on the ruler. No pricing details or release time frame has been presented, but we’ll be keeping an eye on this. (no more)

I always thought Play Stationery sets were too loli for me to buy, but this set might change my mind…
I’ll pay someone a large amount of money to send the pencil sharpener to Chris Hanson.
I bet if they’re castoffable figures, underneath her clothes is a giant “no”.
While i like, and even appreciate the pose, i just can’t reconcile with my non-pervy side that that is a 3rd-grader.
Call me when they slap that pose on something older.
Looks okay. Can’t tell without colour photos, but it’s cute. Shame Solid Theater don’t even have this up yet (why is that? Strange that other sites have the info before the company! O_o)…

Many companies have taken to granting initial scoops to Akiba Blog before their products hit their official sites, to generate “buzz”. Tora did this with their chest-enhanced dakimakura and Solid Theater has done it before with other figures, just to name a few.
Jeez…..I skipped the original play stationary figs but these versions I might just have to find a way to make mine!!

While they look really good, I guess I will be saving up my pennies for that 1/1 scale kokonoe rin instead… Hope it’s not a limited online only sale item. :)
