Amiami has preorder pages up for the two inaugural entries in the Queen’s Gate series of combat game artbooks, based on Hobby Japan’s Queen’s Blade series (which in turn is based on Flying Buffalo’s Lost Worlds combat books). Queen’s Gate is a spinoff series of Queen’s Blade that features the work of famous artists and brands brought into the Lost Worlds game system and artbook format. First scooped at HD back in July, the two characters now up for preorder are the Nitro+ / Niθ-designed Mon wo Hiraku Mono Arisu and the Pop-illustrated Mahou Shoujo Nijihara Ink, heroine of the otaku English phrasebook and anime series Moetan. The pair of hard cover, full color 64-page combat artbooks are scheduled for release on November 30th at 1,500 yen each; we’ll keep an eye out for preorder availability on sites that ship internationally. (no more)
LOL- I saw these at toyslogic.com and the first thing I thought was “Does Shingo know?”
The Moetan book took me by total surprise….I was like WTH??
Oh, come on. We all know Pastel Ink is going to rock the Queen’s Blade world simply because she has the most underwhelming “attributes” of anyone in the Queen’s Blade world. I can’t wait. =D (LOL)
On a different note, I wonder if Megahouse will do a Queen’s Gate Excellent Model series. I mean, a well-done Pastel Ink PVC figure with full cast-off will probably make my head explode from all the wrongness that can follow from such an idea. (LOL again)
They’ve been up on Hobby Search for a few days now, albeit they are listed under “Queen’s Blade”

In other news, Novia Wink is up for PreOrder:

Looking very nice!
Shame you only get to see one picture each. I’d like to see at least one proper inside pic to get a feel for the theme. Still, I really like the Moetan one, and may be my first to pick up! ^_^

I doubt we’ll see a castoff Pastel Ink, based purely on precedent; though given the ecchi level of the anime the possibilities seem widened considerably. Megahouse would be a great candidate for the job if they do decide to go for it.

The books were both up at Amiami last week, but without images attached; I forgot about them until I saw the listings again yesterday.
I didn’t mention the new Novia version yesterday as the original was rather underwhelming (the castoff made me so very sad, it was Funny Knights Rudy class). Hopefully they’ll pay more attention to detail in this new version.

I’m sure more interior images will be available as release nears, and you wouldn’t have to worry about them selling out if you ordered after release; that might be the way to go if you want a thorough preview.
