Amiami has a preorder listing up today for a new Komaki Manaka (DVD jacket ver.) PVC figure from To Heart 2 coming from Taki Corporation in November. The single artifacted image currently available doesn’t give a good idea of what the final kit will look like, but the face sculpt is highly suspicious indeed… like Taki’s other recent offerings Manaka will be fully castoffable, and stands 25 cm tall with a retail price of 9,240 yen. In a (perhaps horrific) turn of events Taki announces here that a Komaki Ikuno kit is in the works as well, for release in December, intended as a companion for her older sister; this would be a great concept but for the infamous reputation for quality that Taki is rapidly gaining (could they possibly bulk out Manaka’s school uniform any more?). We’ll be keeping an eye on these, but not with a great deal of anticipation. (no more)

Her facial expression makes it look like she’s about to get run over by a bus. And that uniform is a sin against nature. I mean, cast-off is cool and all, but only when it’s done right.
Taki=awful! Still have a lot to learn. Kanu was :( and this one may be even worse.
O_O MAN! What an eyesore! This is one of the worst picture reproductions I have seen…what’s with the sculptor? Is this a ten year-old’s work? Sure seems like it, as this is pure horror! Legs are wrong, the look on her face in the picture is shock, not ! Why a uniform? Were they trying to match Toys Works’ Inamori Mika and other girl, where they wear a uniform over their costume? If so, they did a crap job!
Well, things for sure that I will be steering away from Taki’s stuff!
I really hope Taki learns their lesson after this new batch of announcements; I’m guessing the initial Kanu and Ilfa did well by the curiosity factor and the slightly better sculpts, but that doesn’t give them license to release utter shit just because it’s castoff. If there is any justice in the figure world, the market will give Taki a sound spanking and send them back to the drawing board with a decent sculpting (and mass production) staff.
