When we first reported the production of this figure back in May I took a gamble and preordered her on the spot, without a single picture of the kit in evidence. Pictures were soon forthcoming, which happily justified the gamble with the glimpse of a solid sculpt and paint job. It was icing on the cake this morning to see over at Akibajin Blog that her upper half is apparently castoffable, an incredibly surprising move considering that a) Gurren Lagann is a kid’s show and b) Gainax has never allowed castoff PVCs to be made of Evangelion characters, which of any Gainax show seems ripe for such exploitation. Given this development it’ll be interesting to see how she does at retail come her September 27th release… (no more)

who would have guess it. i preordered this too. i like the figure’s figure. didn’t expect any castoff things though. not that it would have affected my decision.
I doubt there is really anything to see under there, that blog censors breasts whether they have nipples or not…
I was just staring at the pic, now very happy I preordered this so long ago…. and I got a nosebleed… But yay for wonderful coincidences! Can’t wait to for this to come in the mail. ^^

Anyone know why she is listed as a December release on PA whereas everywhere else she is a September release?

Looking at the closeup of her top…the quality doesn’t look that good. But I guess that’s cause this isn’t the final product amirite?
Meh…not really that interested, as Konami are very bad figure makers in my eyes. I will see though – they may surprise me…
I preordered her too a long time ago, I really don’t care about cast off. And about Konami, I got the 3 figures they did for Haruhi, Yuki and Mikuru, and I was quite surprised by the good quality, not top like Alter or MAx Factory, but good.
Hmm, for some reason Playasia is telling me it wouldn’t be in-stock until December..
According to both Play Asia’s price and release date, this could possibly be the Yoko MMS instead. The one with moveable joints.
