Fans of all things Moetan and generally cute take note: POP, master of the hyper-saccharin, almost unbearably adorable illustrations that have come to define their own special brand of “moe”, is at it again. Blegh, I feel like I’m writing ad copy… Anyway, he’s got a new artbook out which you can buy at Amazon if you’d like to support HD, or at Mangaoh, and probably elsewhere as well. It’s 152 pages, hard cover, contains a compilation of his color illustration work from between 2005 and 2007, and retails for 2,940 yen. A kyonyuu fan can like cute things too, right? (no more)
I’ve seen “Moe” listed a couple of times now in reference to manga. Forgive my ignorance, but what does it mean?
Liking one type of thing does not preclude you from liking another.
Just because I’m a meganekko fan doesn’t mean I can’t also be a tsundere fan, for example. ^_^
So just enjoy what you enjoy, man. ^^

I could write a book in an attempt to explain the meaning of moe… well, I sort of already did. At this point though I’ll just say that when used by an individual it tends to describe an aspect of personal taste, and when used in a commercial context it tends to describe a cute (usually 2D) girl. The Wikipedia article is here if you’d prefer that as a source.

Indeed, right on. I’ve been a POP fan since the original Moetan and not likely to stop now. :3
Wow…..this is going on the “to get list”, hope to see a review by Shingo if/when he gets his copy.
Thanks for the info Shingo.

I’ll probably pick it up, but not for a week or so… budget is a bit tight this month. ^^;;

No problem, I hope it helped!
