News in from figure shop Waku-Waku Wonder today that a pair of Okama-designed Evangelion Asuka and Rei (witch ver.) prize figures will be coming from Sega in February of next year at 2,480 yen for the pair. While all we have to go on at this point is the Okama illustration and word that they’ll be 16 cm tall, they’ll probably resemble his earlier Eva / Sega prize figure work in production quality; we also know that the sculpt will be handled by OSIRIS of production unit Heavy Gauge, who has quite a distinguished recent repertoire to his name. Preorders should be showing up elsewhere soon! (no more)
Smaller than their usual fare, aren’t they? Well, maybe they’re sitting down? :P Either way, we’ll need to see what they look like when we get actual conceptual pics…
But there’s already Asuka and Rei witches PVC figurines based in the same illustration. I’ve seen it many times at eBay and almost purchased them more than one time.

Kamugin the samething happened with the festival version figures. There was a release based off the normal art, then later on another set based off Okama’s art.The poses are the same the only difference being the art style. You can see the two in the links below.

I’d say this size is par for the course when it comes to prize figures?

Edited your ebay link for table-breaking size. ^^;; Thanks for pointing that out, I wasn’t aware these had come out in non-Okamized versions as well.

Oho, sweet. I haven’t been following the Eva prize figures too closely… it’s a fascinating concept, I hope the trend spreads to other artists and figure lines.
I found an actual pic of the figures

Boy these sure do look good

Nicely spotted! They are indeed looking good, I’m guessing they’ll be pretty hard to come by at prize figure prices.
I got the Okama festival figures and apart from the rough white areas paintjob on Rei are really nice. Were the RPG style fantasy swimsuit Rei & Asuka that came out in April also Okama designs?

I’m not sure which you’re talking about… Maybe the ones designed by Yagumo Kengou?
