completely agrees with serial! i got sunburn waiting for the haruhi seiyuu autographs, which i didn't get. that was a long sat. and sun. plus monday.

i just saw the haruhi concert done in march for japan. needless to say that it made the AX concert look like $%*@.

oh, did anyone see the AX site lately? they posted up a Momoi letter thanking the AX people, which is hard for me to believe she actually wrote that haha.

i heard the concert for Momoi was REALLY, REALLY GOOD. i couldn't make it because of an emergency. wish i could have been there.

From what I understand, the whole Haruhi concert was scripted by some Bandai people (Personally, I think it was scripted by a bunch of monkeys in typewriters), just like the autograph session (Once again, another stroke of pure genius from Bandai). Add the lack of professionalism from the A/V staff, and the multitude of things that went absolutely wrong, and what was supposed to be a top notch concert ended up being just memorable. Sure, it was good, but other concerts ended up feeling more professional and engaging (Tsuchiya Anna and Oreskaband).

Uhm, why did the translator needed to translate "tsundere" on the Haruhi event? Was it something the voice actresses said?

anything that won’t fit in my bike basket = Truth. I usually have to take the bus to the station, which amounts yet more wasted cash better spent on loot.

I once cycled to Joetsu Gunma-souja so I could save on the busfare to JR Maebashi. Juggling loot on a bike is harder than on foot, so the ride home was dicey to say the least.

Well with a vehicle, it might be possible to just drive down to Tokyo, Route 17 leads directly to Akihabara from what I've heard. Parking might be killer, though.

Agreed, once you get out here in the sticks (relatively speaking) the stations are just spaced too far apart for it to be a practical mode of transportation. I found an apartment half way between my job and the train station, which is nice, but lack of a vehicle is certainly an issue when I want to pick up anything that won't fit in my bike basket. -_-;;

Oops. Sorry on my part too.

Well, I assume it's about 1300 yen from Isesaki to Akihabara, so I can see your point about the cost. Costs about 2200 yen via Takasaki, so I can see your point about the lower cost.

Maebashians manage to get the 1890 yen fare to Akihabara, and the option of the Joetsu line. Which is good, except that the stations are just too damn far away.

My kingdom for a better rail system, I say.

Yeah, I could go via Takasaki and it might be a bit faster but I tend to err on the side of the lower cost that Tobu provides.

By the way, if you'd like your comments to appear immediately you just have to enter some junk data into the name and email fields and keep it consistent, once a comment with a certain name/IP combo is approved subsequent ones will be approved automatically. Sorry about that.

Damn, being 3 stations apart really does make a difference. Akiba via Takasaki is more convenient from Maebashi, but atrociously expensive from Isesaki.

Isesaki is at one end of the 東武伊勢崎線, so I usually just take that to 北千住 and switch to the 日比谷線 to get to Akihabara. It's much cheaper than JR, and would be ideal if only there was more than one train a day that rode the whole length of the track. >:(

Never knew you lived in Isesaki. I'm in Maebashi myself. Takes me about 4 hours to get to Akihabara from where I live, by 両毛線-高崎線ー山の手. I assume you use the same route?

Pretty inconvenient, especially if one doesn't own a car.
