After missing all three release waves of Max Factory’s incredibly popular Haruhi figure I wasn’t planning to pick her up, but when I came upon her by chance yesterday at a decent price I couldn’t resist the temptation. What follows is a cursory review of a figure roughly five months old; not much to see here, but humor a fellow, eh?

Haruhi is famous enough at this point to have spawned a derisive English term for her fanbase (and for me to have heard of said term), so I’ll refrain from going into the background and salient characteristics of the character to spare us all the rehash. I’ll merely state for the record that my Harutardation does not extend to the level of some, though I’m quite taken with the anime and hope for a sequel, and that if I had a favorite character in the show it would probably be Haruhi herself (though she doesn’t hit my strikezone perfectly).
I’ll also skip a lengthy discussion of the merits of this kit. It’s good because it captures Haruhi at typical Max Factory reproduction standards and boasts a sculpt job that does not disappoint: all around a professional kit by professional craftsmen with just enough sparkle and dynamism to make me feel like they meant it when they put it together. If I had a complaint it would be that her panties really are rather boring. That, and no matter how many times I beg and implore she will not start doing the Hare Hare Yuukai dance that she seems so close to beginning. ;_;
