Many of the major figure makers have begun taking the wraps off plans for their presence at this summer’s Wonder Festival, with some of the heaviest hitters weighing in already. We report on the event activities of Goodsmile, Max Factory, Yamato, Toys Planning, Toranoana, Orchid Seed, and New Line in this installment:
Goodsmile / Max Factory
The Goodsmile collective updated yesterday with a special Wonder Festival 2007 Summer event page, announcing the 6th iteration of their Wonderful Hobby Life For You stage event (last summer included such guests as Hirano Aya and Inoue Kikuko) as well as a lineup of event-only limited edition figures:
- A Nendoroid Suzumiya Haruhi no Yuuutsu Bunny Girl set, including Haruhi, Mikuru and Nagato figures for 7,000 yen
- A Nendoroid Hetare Saber Alter figure for 3,000 yen
- A SECRET ITEM
- A summer uniform Haruhi and Asahina Mikuru no Bouken set (slightly modified versions of their three Haruhi heroine PVCs released thus far) for 6,000 yen
- An “extra color” version of their upcoming Shiranui Mai figure from King of Fighters for 7,800 yen
- A Queen Hawk figure from Battle Hawk for 3,500 yen
Additional information is available on the recently launched Goodsmile official blog (nothing substantial enough to report, though there is an amusing illustration).
The remaining figures in Toys Planning’s [ERO] O-ji (noantica) collection will be released at Wonder Festival, according to their official Summer Wonder Festival 2007 page. They’ll be released in three pairs at 3,500 yen each, or the set of six plus a bonus figure for 10,000 yen; the bonus figure may only be available via mail order from the Toys Planning site (now sold out) or at the event, details on the wider distribution of the six figures are not yet known. HD’s review of the pilot figure in the set can be found here.
I missed the preorder for the set due to stupid waffling, and am now mentally punching myself in the face. As I type this. It hurts.
Orchid Seed has updated their event page to reflect the special items they’ll be presenting at this summer’s WF, including an alternate color Chichinoe+ PVC (review of the original here) as well as an event limited Ignis the White, gosurori Ryofu, and Jokenshi Fiine (details on the latter three pending). We’ll be keeping an eye on the Orchid event page for updates.
Hobby Channel scoops several of the items Toranoana will have on display at Wonder Festival, including a new Amaha Masane and Rihoko swimsuit figure set from Witchblade seen for the first time here. The set in question is due out this year, though price and date are currently unfixed. The Hobby Channel post also mentions two other Witchblade figures slated to make an appearance at WF, along with the already announced Shigurui, Disagaea 2, and Haruhi entries.
Yamato’s Wonder Festival corner is still rather sparse, although the silhouette of their Non-Non is in evidence. We’ll be keeping an eye out for further details as they appear.
Cold cast maker New Line has announced on their event page that they’ll be bringing 150 copies each of a bondage Sakura kit from Fate / stay night and their earlier released swimsuit Asuka from Evangelion. We’ll check on this again later to see if they update with a more thorough description of the Sakura.
That’s all of the official dealer information I’ve come across thus far, but we’ll be keeping an eye on things as the event approaches. I expect Midareuchi will be putting together his comprehensive industry overview as usual, so interested parties might want to keep an eye on things over there as well.
