Being Japanese illterate, what did Gainax do that riled everyone up so bad? Is it just a change of directors. o.0” What’s fundamentally bad about that.. it’s weird, yes, but enough to warrant countless spam?

Probably there’s something I’m not getting.

This is awesome really. Ten thumbs up to Gainax for this… those stinkin’ otaku ought to be a taught a lesson.

It’s really hypocritical of viewers/spectators in general who flame/criticise/insult the show staff but throw a hissy fit when ever the slighest bit of retort comes back from them.

Ah, but Gainax is no stranger to controvacy. As I had pointed out in another forum:
1. Gainax is made up of Otakus.
2. Otakus argue and swear at each other on forums and blogs all the time.

1+2= Gainax and 2ch swear at each other.

It’s pretty stupid to insult your fanbase when they have no qualms about flaming the hell out of you. A pretty bad move by Gainax as a whole, and I don’t think shutting of comments will help at all, just fan the flames more. Hopefully episode 5 will be awesome enough to tame the otaku heart. Still, pretty sad for a company that was founded by otaku.
