Scooped in the June issue of Tech Gian released yesterday (April 21st) and with an official site now online, new brand Geesen 18 announces the production of Chou Kanojo, the world’s first* (*Guinness record pending) combination fishing simulation game and eroge, slated for release on July 27th.
My initial reaction to this was another “oh, Japan” moment, but after thinking for a bit the brand’s stated goal seems quite clever – bringing the realms of geesen (game center, arcade) kitsch and ero together is a niche that has a good bit of unexplored potential. The more obvious tie-ins have already been done, though, leaving me to wonder what other genres Geesen 18 will be probing in the future… (screenshot below)
Fishing Simulation combined with Eroge, eh? That sounds even crazier than Sport RPGs. The characters look pretty nice especially that girl with Pikachu-cap and pointy fang and that silver haired loli with umbrella. Might be a fun game!
This might actually be something good. It’s a lot more “interactive” than standard ADVs, and that also counts strategy-RPG tie-ins…
Until we actually get a hands-on demo I’m not convinced this will amount to anything more than a cheap gimmick, but it’s still an interesting concept. I’m curious to see where they’ll go with it.

Lo curioso de este juego es que no es un Renai cualquiera, si no que combina lo mejor del genero con simulacion de juego de pesca (muuuuy popular en Japon) lo cual lo hace unico en su clase… ¿reforzando el genero huh? el juego salga el 27 de Julio de este año.
