Kadokawa Shoten continues its assault on Megami‘s bishoujo poster magazine monopoly with the March 26th release of Comp H’s vol. 3. This latest installment offers the same high quality and great extras the previous two had to offer, at 750 yen to Megami’s 780, and if I were the latter I might consider switching to the brown pants right about now. I haven’t cut open the sealed “lucky bag” pages yet, and probably won’t – whether here or in Dengeki Moeoh I find this to be a rather lame gimmick, all the more so because it’s devilishly hard to cut the pages open evenly and you’re often left with a ragged, uneven mess that ruins some of the artwork inside. That aside, Comp H’s vol. 3 gets high marks in my book for several quality posters (the Shuffle, Sumomo and Higurashi ones especially) and extras that could practically be sold as separate items. While content-wise a bit heavy on the Haruhi and the Lucky Star there are no two posters from the same show, which Megami could learn a thing (or twelve, or thirty) from. God damn Sister Princess and Tenshi no Shippo and Da Capo and Negima…
Anyway, word is that Comp H’s will continue with vol. 4 scheduled for release at the end of May. I’m looking forward to it a lot more than the next Megami issue. :3
Comp H’s is a cover for KyoAni’s advertising. Which is good.
Very KyoAni focused I see.
Can you recommend any site online where I can get this magazine, besides amazon jp (the shipping is too expensive for me).
The KyoAni focus is probably just coincidental, as Haruhi and Lucky Star are both Kadokawa Shoten publications. Kadokawa seems to be the real puppet master around here, if anyone is, though I for one welcome our new choreographed dancing overlords.

I know that Mangaoh ships internationally, though I’m not sure if their shipping is any better than Amazon’s.
