Ranking among my favorite character designs of the decade, the reincarnated wedding dress version of Ignis has been one of the few designs I’ve really longed to see brought to life in figure form. Knowing it was unlikely due to the incredible complexity of the sculpt I didn’t dare to dream, but now that dream has come true… *tries to hide tears of joy, fails* A resin sculpt of Orchid Seed’s Ignis the White will be on display at Wonder Festival on the 25th, with a PVC version slated for release in the indeterminate future. For those unfamiliar with Ignis, she’s one of the heroines of Nitro+’s Jingai Makyou, an eroge released in the summer of 2005. In the course of the game she sacrifices herself to save the protagonist, but is reincarnated even more powerful and beautiful than before (spoilers, but nobody is going to play it anyway, kek). This is the game CG that Orchid Seed’s kit is based on:

As might be expected with such a prodigious undertaking, this kit is the work of two sculptors: Orchid Seed’s Ishiyama Satoshi on main duty (no doubt handling the head and main body / pose elements) with cooperation from Hiroman, who based on his past Ah! My Goddess kits was probably brought on to handle the intricate dress work.

There is no word as to when we’ll see a release yet, though odds are good she’ll hit shelves in the summer through typical Goodsmile release channels. I’m happy they’ve chosen to go straight to PVC with this, as I’d hate to find myself in the possession of duplicate kits again… the only thing that would make my Ignis figure life even more complete would be a second wedding dress kit, one based on the cover art from the Jingai Makyou soundtrack album:
