I’m coming to comiket but still deciding which days.

The only day I feel I NEED to go to is marimite/rozen maiden non-porn day(day 1)… I’ll probably come to day 3 just to cruise around and if you’re planning on doing something after the event I’d certainly be interested in getting drink/food/whatever. I’m still questioning to myself whether or not I really can justify spending large amounts of money on porn doujin that are using other peoples characters to try and make significant amounts of money off them. I’m less bothered with the non-porn since the incidence of what I perceive as “profiteering” seems lower, but it might all just be in my head. It’s impossible to tell which big circles are doing it out of the love of the characters and which are doing it for an extra buck without asking them directly :/

I’d recommend against a package – grab the cheapest tickets you can find to fit your timeframe, stay at a youth hostel or cheap hotel convenient to the Big Sight, and you’re good to go. Package tours are for the weak and uninformed (unless they manage to make them incredibly, mind-blowingly cheap).

Some Japanese helps, but is hardly necessary to navigate Tokyo. They’ve made the process quite user friendly in recent years; English is all over the place. Once you learn how to navigate the train system you’re set.

I’m not sure I follow you with the priority queue, but if you’re saying I should put posts as the top priority item you’re probably right. It’s hard to divide time between actually enjoying stuff and posting about it, though. :/

I wish I had more time to properly learn Japanese… because I wouldn’t want to go without being able to speak the language at least a little bit.

Shingo, you should seriously consider using one big priority queue instead of different simple ones and giving your posts the highest priority (note to self: stop to express yourself the geek way).

I wish I was going but I am shit broke. I might be able to make it… next… summer? Hell, I need to either learn Japanese more or I need to go and make it be like Genshiken 7. … It wouldn’t be anything like Genshiken 7.

Anyone with tips on good flight/hotel packages? Or cheap versions of either? Good airlines to take? PLEASE?!?!? COME ON!
