Oops, slight correction to my last comment – the OVAs actually appeared on Amazon mid-August. (I was looking at the date for something else in the same orders.)

They appeared on Amazon around July 23rd (at least that’s when I ordered mine), and within a day or two the collector’s editions were ranking in the #60-90 range for DVD sales. They’ve slipped back now (CE1 is currently #150), but that’s still pretty impressive when you consider how many DVDs Amazon must sell…

With any luck, these will sell like hotcakes and they’ll make several more ’seasons’ of 50-minute OAVs. Moving to an OAV system makes a lot of sense.
