I owe this scoop entirely to rq and danbooru: according to the September edition of Newtype (officially on sale August 10th), “Suzumiya Haruhi RETURNS!!”. Having only this cover image to go by thus far details are sparse, and may not imply a full-fledged TV series, but I’d say this is as official as it gets before it’s actually… well, official. SOS-dan members, get those champagne bottles ready…

OK, srry to wake you up frum your little fantasy world, but that Newtype article was a HOAX. Agen srry. BUT! The second season of Suzumiya haruhi no Yuutsu was announced by Moon Phase to come in Fall of 07. CAN’T WAIT!

Yes, I noticed the error and retracted it shortly after. Apologies for the confusion. However, we won’t be seeing a second season of Haruhi this fall either - Kyoani will be busy producing Clannad TV. ;_;
