Boss cans are minimalist! I mean, I think Boss BLACK is a very nice can. Given their default can is kind of ugly, but BLACK and Cafe Au Lait cans look pretty good. Though, I can definitely feel the sentiment you have about legos and Ritz crackers. Their appearance in GAINAX works has surely put it on a level with... say... Benoist tea in a post Densha Otoko Japan.

Truely things should live up to their perceptions. I mean, I'd like to think I could go to Japan and easily obtain any of the products I've seen in popular shows. One day, I will gather money and test this. We need hard numbers!

>>Randall
I personally think that UCC's cans are works of art, but I'll concede that it might just be a conditioned response by now.

And although I understand how you might enjoy Cafe La Mode, surely as a reasonable otaku you would not deny me my right to drink UCC if I so choose, would you? But more to the point, this isn't about actual beverages so much as it's about our own unique cultural heritage. There are plenty of things that I do not personally use, but nonetheless I would be upset if they were no longer available. Legos, for example. Or Ritz crackers. Plus there's the sheer dishonesty of it all. The lies, man. THE LIES.

And honestly, taste is taste but are you seriously trying to tell me that cans of Boss are prettier than UCC cans? Because we're getting into eye-exam territory here. What marketing guy came up with "old guy's head in muddy blue relief"? The mind boggles...

So wait, does it make me a bad person if I only really want Blendy's Cafe La Mode? Does that make me a bad person? :'( Well, I guess I could go for Georgia's Ice Cafe Vanilla, but I guess we're not talking about sweeter stuff here. PSH! Do they even make the Ice Cafe Vanilla anymore? Boss has some good product too. Relaxing times, and all that. Haha. BOO UCC! BOOOOO!

We need to get some canned coffee vending in the states. Importing is expensive.

Also, UCC's cans are ugly. I'm just saying.
