In today’s update: Official sites online for Nishi no Yoki Majo, Utawarerumono, Suzumiya Haruhi no Yuu-utsu; a casting link between Strawberry Panic and My HiME; Simoun, Coyote Ragtime Show, and Basilisk site updates; Depeche Mode stars in their very own doujin game*; Cave taunts you (in Soviet Russia); and fans of Kamichu, Ai Yori Aoshi, Valis, Saber, and Range Murata all have reason to rejoice.
Media Side
- The official site for upcoming TV anime Nishi no Yoki Majo is now online, with designs coming across firmly in the “fair to middling” category. Here’s hoping the story excels in their place.
- Going from sparse to spartan, the official Utawarerumono anime site is also now online. Nothing to see there yet, not even a handsome portrait of Space Butler.
- Going from spartan to non-existent, the official Suzumiya Haruhi no Yuu-utsu anime site is now, err, online? If the line of text there is to be believed. This post will seem absurd within the next week or so as actual content is added to the site(s) in question. -_-
- Air Gear will air on TV Tokyo starting April 4th at 25 o’clock. Strawberry Panic will air on TV Kanagawa starting April 3rd at 26:45.
- Speaking of Strawberry Panic, there was some sort of live event featuring its voice actresses recently. I don’t have time to parse the particulars, but I’d like to note that the two seiyuu pictured there (Nakahara Mai and Shimizu Ai) will be reprising the “onee-sama” x “imouto” roles we’ve seen them play together before.
- Speaking of yuri couples, the Simoun anime site has been updated with several more glimpses of what we can expect as far as visuals. I’m pretty happy with the way the designs are coming out here, especially the eroero pink-haired girl. :3 Will be watching with gusto come April 3rd.
- Ufotable’s Coyote Ragtime Show has updated its official site with a new background image: a free-falling, gun-toting, twin-tailing maid. It’s official, folks: gun-maids are in (if we needed any confirmation).
- Basilisk has updated its gallery page with recent magazine art. I’d love to find a copy of September’s Animage…
- The final episode of Eureka Seven will be a one hour special, airing on April 2nd from seven to eight AM.
- Urobura, a fighting game from doujin circle Umo-ya / Nande Z, will be on sale March 18th courtesy of Toranoana. Any resemblance of its characters to the cast of a popular visual novel (or two) is purely coincidental, as all of the characters in Urobura are actually Depeche Mode band members in cosplay.
- *…ok, not really.
- Hello, my name is Cave. My three sizes are hi ~ mi ~ tsu, and my hobby is tormenting fans with videos of figures I’m not going to let them buy. I’m envisioning a whole new class of in Soviet Russia jokes here, only “in otaku market Japan”…
- An Ai Yori Aoshi COMPLETE WORKS artbook will be released on March 28th, containing every color illustration produced for the anime as well as some new ones and a “newlyweds” mini-manga. A special CD-ROM anime image compilation will be included as well; this is sounding like a must-have for any fan of the franchise.
- Volume 8 of the R2 Kamichu! DVD set goes on sale March 29th, finally bringing the series to its true conclusion with the DVD-only 16th episode. Tanoshimi~
Ero Side
- The hook: “I-it’s not like I really want you to buy it or anything!” The line: tsundere candy. The sinker: Tsuyokisu trading cards. The fisherman: Toranoana.
- Valis Cross finds a new home at the official Valis Project site, now fully open. Sample CG is available here, and a history of the franchise is here; color me impressed by the exemplary English punctuation in evidence here.

Figure Side
- Alter’s June lineup is officially out today, consisting of this wild wild west Hikaru PVC from Peace@Pieces and the much-hyped Dark Saber PVC from Fate / stay night that made such a splash at Wonder Festival.
- Shoulderless white swimsuit? Check. Ribbons? Check. Shinai? Check. This T’s System-sculpted Saber PVC from Fate / hollow ataraxia will be out in late May, courtesy of Clayz.
- A Robot trading figure collection is coming from Vice in May (based on the Range Murata-compiled color manga anthology by the same name).
- Futakoi Alternative fans rejoice! A Sara and Sojuu PVC set is coming from Wave, slated for a late June release. I’m digging the interchangeable gun/mug configuration…
- Several other items scooped in the earlier Wanfesu roundups are making their way into preorder, an up-to-date list of which will appear in tomorrow’s update. Up-to-date. Update. Oh English-kun. -_-;;
Sounds like the upper management at Caves consist almost entirely of women…
More than 50 new anime coming out in April-May… do have you the time/space for them all?!?
Hehe.. it must be Sabre Figurine Day today. ^_^
Shingo,
relax a little… this site won’t implode and we won’t crucifix you just because you need a few days off. XD
the Hikaru figure is pretty cute…
