In today’s update: Oni wa soto, fuku wa uchi! HD casts out the demons and brings in the good luck with today’s update, including a first glimpse of Suzumiya Haruhi anime designs, the Death Note movie site pre-open, Volume 23 of Replicant magazine and volume one of Dragon Age Pure scoops, the usual ero and figure updates, and Blood+ parties like it’s 1699.
Media Side
- Kadokawa provides the first web-based glimpse of what we can expect visually from the upcoming Suzumiya Haruhi no Yuu-utsu anime. It’s set for an April launch, but web radio begins on February 10th.
- Why produce an original OST or image album when you can just play Bach inspired by Blood+? Those yearning for a taste of the Baroque to go with their vampire anime can pick it up on February 15th.
- The official Death Note movie site is pre-open today, a film based on the manga by the same name.
- Eyelash explosion alert: a batch of design works from the Basilisk TV anime are online today courtesy of Web Anime Style.
- The fifth volume of the Kirameki Project OVA will be out on February 24th. Even on the sweatshop wages animators are paid I can’t help but wonder if this is breaking even.
- Kashimashi Girl Meets Girl has a new episode of web radio online today, as does To Heart 2. What does curry have to do with Setsubun? Saa…
- The pilot issue of manga serial Dragon Age Pure went on sale January 30th, and Akiba Blog was there. Though it’s arguably worth picking up for the pin-up on the inside of the front cover alone, the manga content seems pretty amusing as well; I’ll try to post some particulars once I’ve picked my way through it a bit more.
- A promotional video is online today for Konami’s Rumble Roses XX, due out on March 30th for the xbox 360. You can smell the doujin from a mile away…
Ero Side
- New episodes of Melon Books’ Merokomi webcomic and Toranoana’s Shiawase no Momoringo are online today, and by “today” I mean “sometime earlier this week”.
- The March edition of Dengeki G’s Magazine was out on January 30th, with a Manaka “pass case” and a B2-size Fate poster as extras; looks like Rin skipped her medication for that one. In other Fate news, Fox Publishing / Toranoana announces a Hollow Ataraxia anthology comic slated for release on February 28th.
- Chise’s Nanakanata has had its release bumped back a month to April 28th.

Hobby Side
- Volume 23 of Replicant magazine went on sale January 31st, with Yamato’s upcoming Kasukabe Saki (Kaicho cosplay ver.) PVC figure gracing the cover. A sample of the figure was on display in Akiba in conjunction with the magazine’s release; Akiba Blog and Akibajin both took pictures. Note that the figure on display is a professionally painted resin kit and not the mass-produced PVC model; even so, !!!.
- Samples of Bandai’s Super Robot Wars Heroines vol. 2 trading figures were out and about in Akiba yesterday, along with Wave’s Tabris XX PVC from Evangelion. And a life-sized CCS Sakura.
- Bandai’s Namco X Capcom capsule figures went on sale yesterday. Akibajin comes to the rescue with a review (MOK-KOS ALERT).

An email arrived from Kotobukiya last night to the effect that Sela-chan is now shipping; with some luck that will put her on my doorstep tonight. If that’s the case, expect a review as soon as humanly possible. :3
