neko mimi modo, ne? With this coming on the heels of the Himekuri Image Girl review it would seem that there is a noticable pettanko trend in the figure department here, a trend which must be rectified as soon as possible.

After tweaking the onboard camera settings this is what I came up with, quite acceptable for shots taken straight from the camera and uploaded; they look even better tweaked in Photoshop a bit, but I don’t know how to batch process for white balance yet (and didn’t have the time to do them all by hand). I hear Picasa or XnView may be better suited to the task… any input on this would be much appreciated.

You have a thing for catgirls, huh.
Looks great, and the whites look a lot better. As for batching, my camera came with Digital Photo Pro, so I use that for white balance. It has a batch mode.

Not particularly, more a thing for well-made figures. I do like Hazuki, but she’s more the exception than the rule when it comes to design taste…

Thanks, I think it’s a vast improvement as well. The reviews I’ve looked at of the software that came with the camera haven’t been particularly encouraging, so I didn’t install any of it… maybe I should take a second look and see if there’s anything in the bundle worth using.
This batch of figures looks way better (sexier?) than the first round of Tsukuyomi under-1000 yen figures, IMHO. I think its the eye painting and the lack of nose.
I haven’t got either yet, though… 6000 yen for a full box set. Heck I’ll wait.

Agreed, Alter is one of the really solid brands that’s emerged over the past year. This is about as good as it gets for trading figures that I’ve seen.
When it’s a monetary toss up between games and figures I tend to fall on the latter side, but I can certainly understand the compulsion (addiction?) of the former…
Excuse my ignorance, but what’s a pettanko?
A pettanko is a small-chested girl. danbooru has plenty of examples (very much not safe for work). Danbooru’s oppai tag (again NSFW) is more in line with my personal tastes, but for Hazuki exceptions must be made.
Wow, the quality of the final release looks better than I thought. Btw, for the white balance issue, most of that is processed in my digicam under the manual settings so I don’t need to tweak it in PS.
Yeah, for the past couple of reviews I’ve just left it up to the camera. I’ve had to shift the white balance all the way to the blue end, but I think it looks just about right that way.
