Media Side

  • The official site for the spring 2006 Soul Link anime is online, based on the Navel game by the same name. The game is technically 18+, but there’s no such content in immediate evidence on the site.
  • The official site for the four episode Baldr Force EXE Resolution OVA is online today as well, also originally based on an eroge.
  • While Trinet is busy scooping Baldr Force they also note that Yoshinaga-san Uchi no Gargoyle is set for broadcast in April 2006.
  • February’s edition of Shounen Ace was out yesterday and it scooped the animefication of Yumetsukai, now noted on Kadokawa’s official site as well.
  • Juohboshi (?), a manga by Itsuki Natsumi serialized in Comic LaLa, is also to recieve the anime treatment in April 2006.
  • Dengeki Moeoh‘s not dead! This the latest scoop from Moeoh HQ: In addition to a special edition entitled “Otona no Moeoh” to be released at Comiket, a Moe Moe Coliseum art special magazine will be released on March 26th and the main magazine will be relaunched in an as-yet unspecified incarnation in June (details in the April 21st 2006 issue of Dengeki Daioh). They have a full page of quotes from fans of the magazine, which apparently convinced them there was enough demand to continue… very good news indeed.
  • The OP animation, ED animation, and a trailer are all online for Amaenaideyo!! Katsu!!. Second verse, same as the first.
  • A new trailer is online for Tactical Roar along with an entirely unrelated new episode of Paniponi Dash web radio.
  • The Jinki Extend character designer reminds us to inject a little Death into our Christmas spirits.
  • Enterbrain scoops the contents of moe picture magazine Majikyuu vol. 22.
  • The last three pages of e conte (storyboard) for Telecom Anime’s Robo Crosser ep. 6 can be found here.

Hobby Side

  • Akibajin represents today with what may be the final two installments of his WHF 13 review, parts 1 and 2 of his misc. booth coverage. Part 1 is of particular note for his coverage of the [ERO] Orchid Seed Ignis kit to be released in mid-January… There’s no way I could do justice to that paint job (god damn butterfly) but boy is it an amazing piece of work.
  • Word from Figure Alternative has it that an official Tecmo-released, T’s System sculpted Rio PVC figure (from Super Black Jack, etc.) will be coming out in March. If you order it from the Tecmo online shop she comes with nekomimi, but will be available at a discount from the rather steep 8,190 yen in a normal version from other online and B&M retailers.
  • Also oming in March from Griffon are this pair of blazing hot Ikkitousen resin kits: Kanu Unchou (torn clothes ver.) and Bashoku Youjou.
  • On Sale Today
    • Wafuudou Ganguten’s Ragnarok Online trading figures
    • Megahouse’s P.D. Collection School Rumble figures [1] [2] [3] [4] [5] [6] [7] [8]
    • Alter’s Aries PVC from Makai Tenshi Jibril 2

This months installments of Genshiken and NHK both upped the soul-crushing emotional sledgehammer rating a few notches, and it’s going to take me a little while to process them for review. In the meantime Comiket preparation proceeds apace, with circle lists and maps printed and most other supplies at the ready. I’m 90% sure at this point that I’ll be attending on both days, and I’m going to shoot for an update between them if I’m not utterly wiped out. Wish me luck.

If it looks like things are coming together tomorrow I may try to squeeze out the third installment of How to Comiket, but it too may be shunted into the post-event backlog… apologies in advance if that’s the case.
