In today’s (second) update: HD gets back on track with leftover news from the past few days now fully processed. I would try to think of a clever way to summarize it here but my brain is now officially dead for the day; read on for a whole lot of stuff. And things.

Media Side
- Media Works’ Dengeki G’s Magazine has an official site online for 2/3 Ai no Kyoukai Sen. The mind reels at the possibilities of this (what I assume to be non-ero) game, in which you direct the actions of a NEET (Not in Employment, Education, or Training) hikikomori protagonist who must choose between the two-dimensional and three-dimensional girls that surround him, in an attempt to escape his self-inflicted hikikomori prison. The big catch here is that, as can be seen, the “3D” girls are depicted in two dimensions. I think I just popped a logic function. I’m not completely sure that this is a game, it may just be a G’s Magazine feature or something else entirely. Whatever it is, more information will surely find its way here as it’s made available.
- An official site is online today for the upcoming animation RAY THE ANIMATION animation. Why is Black Jack lurking behind them? I don’t know. There’s some connection, though.
- The fourth installment of Nakayama Hatsumi’s Deep Blue Age web manga is online, courtesy of Fox Publishing / Toranoana.
- Enterbrain had a Moe Uranai (fortune-telling matchmaker) on sale last weekend which I was able to pick up in Akiba. Lacking the knowledge of my own blood type I haven’t yet been able to find my perfect moe character type match, but persevere I shall. Incidentally, this is essentially an encyclopedia of moe roles and costumes. [Akiba Blog scoop]
- In other moe news, this reference book detailing the structure and workings of the various branches of the JSDF was released recently as well.
- Dengeki Moeoh volume 16, the magazine’s final issue, will be on sale December 26th (scroll down for an image of the cover).
- According to its official site, the Aria anime will be net-radioified weekly starting on January 10th.
- Akiba Blog scoops last weekend’s sale of the Comiket 69 CD-ROM catalog.
Ero Side
- Galge.com scoops the 21 eroge on sale tomorrow, December 22nd (a day earlier than usual due to Friday being the Emperor’s birthday). Items of interest include Caramel Box’s Aekanaru Sekai no Owari ni, Studio E.go’s Debo no Subako, Marmalade’s Miraroma, Cage’s Naisho no Yorimichi, Ruf’s Yumemiru Kusuri, Sarukoubou’s Shinobi Kokoro, Guilty’s Gibo to Oba, and Mini’s Natsukashi, among others.
- Galge.com strikes again with their Comiket 69 industry booth overview, providing a hyperlinked map of the hall with information on what many of the vendors will be selling. There are no pictures, though, so the Comiket Corner below may still prove useful.
- Toranoana / Fox Publishing will be releasing the first (third, actually – they can’t count) volume of their Akiba-kei magazine “Moyori” on January 30th. The first two prototypes sold well enough to have a go at a regular release schedule, it seems.
- G.J?’s Tsuma to Mama to Boin page has been updated with complete character profiles as well as a blog that seems to be a cross-marketing exercise with sister brand OLE’s upcoming release of Tenmusu!?.

- Ani-An announces the first volume of its upcoming Ryuusei Tenshi Primaveil OVA, set for a February 2006 release.

Hobby Side
- Is this a Hobby Stock-only Tsuyokisu Kurogane Otome naked apron PVC figure I see before me, available for preorder when Hobby Stock opens on January 16th? Yes, yes it is. Also ruthlessly cloned from Akibajin is this Banpresto Maid Cafe Collection Akihabara set of trading figures, on sale in late January. Some of them look rather awesome.

Shingo,
How is Taimanin Asagi Gaiden different from Taimanin Asagi? Is it a sequel or a revised edition or something?
Given the price tag (~1,000 yen) I don’t think it can really be seen as a sequel, but it’s an addition to the original game. If you’re familiar with the Bible Black franchise that’s probably the easiest analogy (the original six-episode Bible Black to the two-episode Bible Black Gaiden), the latter isn’t directly related to the continuity of the original story but it’s more of an encore “back by popular demand” type thing.
In sum: I’m pretty sure that all of the content in Taimanin Asagi Gaiden will be original, but shorter than the original game, and not furthering the plot in any significant way.
