I woke up this morning to find net access restored, but with a three-day update backlog things are rather swamped. I’ll get as much done as I can this morning but the real update may have to wait until after work. For now, here is a picture I took of Akihabara in 1935 (January 2003).

I’d like to visit the “Pornography” store X’D
It’s not really a pornography store, at least it wasn’t in 2003… Akihabara has changed a lot since then though. I can’t remember if that particular building is still the “Tokyo Radio Depart[ment Store]” or not, I’ll have to check some more recent photos.
This isn’t to say that there aren’t stores in Akiba that would be better labeled “pornography” than anything else, though. The Messe Sanoh strip and Melon Books both come to mind…
‘Melon books’?! Sounds like a bookstore that I might open…
Ooh, what filters did you run that through? B/W -> Contrast?
>> Sounds like a bookstore that I might open…
I don’t have a link handy but it’s probably something like melonbooks.jp… sorry to disappoint, but it’s a general purpose otaku bookstore whose hallmark is a very melon shade of green. No large spheres in evidence (at least not more than usual).
>> what filters did you run that through?
I did it about two and a half years ago so I don’t recall exactly… I may still have the .psd laying around, I’ll check when I get home. It’s probably B/W -> Contrast as you say, though. I do remember using either Film Grain or one of the add dust/scratches filters on it at the end.
