In today’s update: a Sasami Club promo movie, the official Witchblade anime site, Moetan Listening at C69, Weekly Web Radio Roundup, eroanime scoops from Muse and Vanilla, the usual Friday night eroge update explosion, scoops on new Noantica and Gigapulse figures, etc. etc.
Media Side
- There’s a rather long promotional movie online today for Sasami Mahou Shoujo Club, the new Tenchi Muyo spinoff. If I were more of a magical girl fan this seems like just the sort of thing I’d be going crazy over right now; even with my general apathy toward the genre it still looks pretty amusing. Eyelashes brought to you by VAP, makers of Amaenaideyo!.
- An official site is online today for the upcoming Witchblade anime. Is this the same property as the TV series and the American comic? Yes, yes it is. Those with lingering Gonzo hate will certainly be appalled by this development from day one, but with Uno Makoto on character designs I’m willing to bide my time and see where things go. How far can witches be from [ERO] angels, after all (not that Uno had any “official” involvement in the latter project, of course).
- Toranoana partners with Moetan in announcing the Comiket 69 release of a Moetan “Listening CD“. The two sites are tag-teaming upload duty for a series of four audio commercials for the item, the first of which is now online courtesy of the Moetan page; as is perhaps to be expected it contains no English whatsoever. The (as yet unnamed) voice actress playing Ink’s role is certainly more appealing than the Moegaku lead, but whether she’ll be able to pronounce worth a damn is another matter entirely. I’m guessing the phrases will be taken verbatim from the original book, but if not here’s hoping they don’t use the same (machine) translator that Toranoana did. Expect further updates on this as the story develops.
- In other C69 news, the first ever glimpse of the Disgaea anime upcoming from studio OLM will be on display at Rondo Robe’s industry booth on both days of the event.

Ero Side

- In denpa news I can’t help but mention the release yesterday of artist U-san’s first album, Ultra U. It’s worth picking up for Dame??? alone.

- Volume one of the Muse-produced Hitozuma Kasumi-san OVA went on sale yesterday. This is one I definitely want to track down…

Hobby Side
- The few. The proud. The top image update.
- [ERO] Following the initial success of his T’s-system sculpted, Toy’s Planning-produced “girl” PVC figure, Noantica announces the planned release of two additional figures, presumably produced under a similar collaboration. They’re slated for spring and summer 2006 releases respectively, and in both cases the clothing is planned to be removable. Thanks to Albert Elegance for the heads up on this item.
- [ERO] Gigapulse represents today with news on its 5th and 6th eroge-based PVC figure releases, both of them featuring Nagisa from Stoneheads’ Maid in Heaven SuperS. The prototype for the 5th is looking halfway decent (certainly a far sight better than the abortion that their Sexfriend Mina is looking to be), but still not anything to be terribly excited about. [Galge.com scoop]
- Hobby Channel really wants you to order the Hobby Japan special version Asuka Santa PVC. If you’ve been sleeping under a rock for the past month, they also want to tell you about Max Factory’s January releases.
- The February 2006 issue of Dengeki Gao, on sale December 27th, will come with this DearS Ren figure included.
- Amiami exposes an alternate paint version of Kaiyodo’s upcoming Himekuri Image Girl, worth checking even if you ordered the regular version (which is also now on display, apparently). Thank you Akibajin blog.
- According to Figure Alternative Amazon.jp is running a huge sale in their Toy and Hobby section with many figures from 40-60% off; if you’ve been hesitating on any of the items posted there, now would be a fine time to take the plunge.
- Also courtesy of Amazon are some amazing pictures of Yujin’s upcoming Iroha PVC (gotta dig that face shot), along with some nice ones from Ice Cream’s Legend of Lemnear trading figures (on sale today).

I have to see if I can’t get my hands on a few of those Lemnear figures before they disappear… also, expect manga reviews sometime this weekend. Really. ;;
Aren’t those eyelashes by the people behind Grenadier? Also, the character featured in that SHUFFLE! vol. 5 is Asa not Asuna…
Thanks for pointing that out, post fixed.
The Grenadier eyelashes don’t seem to have quite the bend in them that the Amaenaideyo designs do (not to mention that Sasami and Amaenaideyo are both VAP productions, while Grenadier is WOWOW). Now those will poke your eye out…
Bend… o.O
I didn’t think you’d observe them so closely. Lol.
I just thought that the length resembled Rushuna’s. :D
Witchblade [Anime]
Witchblade from Image/TopCow will be an anime. . .
