In today’s update: a dizzying assault of a week’s worth of headlines, including: Marimite season 3, the new eroge title from G.J? and hints at a sequel to Crossnet-Pie’s Boin, a fixed release date for Muv Luv Alternative (honest this time, really), a realdoll eroge (…), Comiket Corner, February 2006 figure release schedule, Rushuna’s removable shirt, etc. etc. A fair bucketload of the usual grist that keeps the HD mill wheels a-turning.

Media Side
- The biggest scoop by far to come out of Japan this week is the announcement of Maria-sama ga Miteru Season 3, set for a 2006 OVA release. For those who have remained faithful through the bitter wasteland that was the past year of yearning for a followup to Haru, our prayers have finally been answered. Perhaps Maria-sama really IS watching. Or would be, if she had a DVD player.
- Yahoo Movies has a Gin-iro no Kami no Agito page up, with a new and very spiffy 1’50” trailer online in three bandwidth flavors. Perhaps this will be the diamond in the rough of recent years’ tragically mediocre anime cinema.
- The official Yomigaeru Sora -Rescue Wings- site is now fully online, with character designs, other production sketches and etc. I’m still mildly interested in seeing how this one pans out, although I’m no longer quite optimistic enough to predict a Planetes-class show.
- December 22nd will see the release of this School Rumble OVA; be sure to scroll down for the single tantalizing onsen screenshot.

Fun and Games
- The official site for Sotsugyou ~2nd Generation~ will be fully open on November 25th; the game itself is slated for a spring 2006 release on the PS2.
- Konami is putting out a compendium of five Gradius games for the PSP entitled Gradius Portable, set for a February 9th release.

Ero Side
- Absolutely smashing news from G.J? today, as they unveil their latest upcoming title to the world: Tsuma to Mama to Boin will hit store shelves in spring 2006. Sano Toshihide’s designs only improve with age, and this latest crop easily bests his former endeavors in my book; I’m less certain of the low-budget Aftereffects animation that seems to have migrated from other Teck brands to this new G.J? release; you can be the judge, as a sample video is available here. We’ll have to content ourselves with this until actual sample CG starts coming in, but I’m afraid my purchase decision has already been made. -_-;;
- Tech Gian’s January issue will be out tomorrow, and boy howdy if it doesn’t have another piece of good news for us fans of improbably-endowed two dimensional females: After dropping off the radar for more than a year, Crossnet-Pie is back at it with “Resort Boin”, which given the similarity in nomenclature to its flagship title I would wager is nothing short of a sequel. Further entering the realms of wild (though reasonable) conjecture, I’ll assert that Happo Bijin is on board to do the character designs for this one as well; more on this when I’m able to pick the magazine up, if not before.
- Here’s a riddle for you: what’s blue and white and smells vaguely fishy? If you guessed the Muv Luv Alternative release date as announced on Age’s website two days ago, you’d be right. Age fans have been burned by this title so many times over the past few years that even I, the most casual of adherents, have become jaded at the prospect of its supposed release. February 24th for the DVD and March 3rd for the CD-ROM version, if there’s still an ounce of trust in you.
- For those who hate to leave their eroge at home but lack sufficiently miniaturized computing capability, Poashara’s Kosutte Gin-Gin series is now available in poker form on your FOMA-enabled cell phone.
- Tech Gian News Mail announces that the release of P-factory’s Ano Machi no Koi no Shi has been pushed back from January 27th to sometime in March. A sad day for the Kimura Takehiro fans, but at least it hasn’t been cancelled outright (or Muv-Alted, heaven forbid).
- The official site for Light’s Imitation Lover is now open. This is news I would normally stash in the New Site Launches column, if not for the remarkable level of detail it presents: the game is introduced not once, but FIVE TIMES, commentary on almost every image and game feature provided by the character you choose to guide you through the site away from the index page. I’m not particularly interested in the designs or the concept but the site is so well-made I couldn’t help but click through it for awhile. Game makers, if you’re out there reading: you would do well to clone this site.
- Last Friday (October 18th) was a relatively light day for eroge releases, seeing only five titles; as usual this will be made up for in the fourth week of the month with the slew of titles set to hit shelves on the 25th. Silkys’ Ai no Chikara and Undel’s Defcon One are this week’s prime offerings, such as they are.
- The latest alchemical homunculus to appear from the melting pot of bizarre Japanese fetishes appears to be this new offering from Le Chocolat. Candy Girl discribes itself as a game about romancing realdolls. Ok, no problem. So the fine artists at Le Choco will be drawing CG of dolls that you then get to go Rozen Maiden on, right? Not exactly; it seems the dolls ARE the characters. Photographed. Let’s ponder the implications of that for a bit.
- This week’s Galkko feature is Clover’s Quilt, for the Carnelian fans. [sample CG]
- For the artbook collectors, Siesta’s MOON CHILDe will see an official fanbook released tomorrow, October 21st.
- Parthenon, a “simple 2000” (i.e. cheap, around 2,000 yen) yaruge maker, has a pair of notable titles slated for near future release: Ane x Oto coming at the end of November, and Temptation 2 before the end of the year.

Comic Market 69 is just around the bend – a month and nine days, not that anyone’s counting. I’m expecting the amount of related news to rise exponentially in the coming weeks, so watch this space. For now, Akiba Blog notes that the C69 catalogue is now on preorder at several fine retailers. Also, scoops on Comiket content from the following industry reps:
Hobby Side
- The few. The proud. The COMIKET 69 OR BUST notice, and a new webcomic. Poor Mike-chan. ;;
- The dates for Chara Hobby 2006 have been set: August 19th and 20th. Once again the event looks to run in direct conflict with Wonder Festival, alas.
- Out on December 23rd, the fourth volume of the Kirameki Project OVA will be accompanied by this Klone figure. Not bad at all, although I hear the series itself is uninspring.
- The Figure Alternative blog posts a comprehensive list of February 2006 bishoujo figure releases. I think I’ll wind up just posting links to these in the sidebar here to save myself a good headache…
- [ERO] Gainax announces the late-November release of this Anna resin from HiMM. Those are flesh-colored spats, apparently, but they sure had me fooled for awhile. A resin kit was also recently released, courtesy of Web Be-J, for Top wo Nerae! 2’s Raruku.

… and that’s a wrap. Remind me not to leave things for the weekend like this again… that, or take away my copy of X-Com. Just have to hunt down an alien base commander, and then it’s on to Mars…
Tsuma to Mama to Boin: OHMYLORD!
It’s good to see you’ve escaped your alien captors. ;D
The new G.J? release looks good, but those cheapo animations have got to go. Or at least give us the option to turn them off. I’ve already got my eye on miss eyepatch though.
That Gainax thing is just evil. You would have no way of telling if it weren’t for the line above her knees.
