In today’s update: Mailish goes Lamune, the latest attempt to impart English unto the unwashed otaku masses, Maid in Heaven SuperS vol. 2 stills, Key’s new game title (most ridiculous eroge / visual novel title EVER? you decide), Evangelion eau de toilette, and Alter / Max Factory’s February ’06 PVC lineup. It’s cookin’, yo.
Anime Side
- The winter 2006 anime season continues fleshing out today with the grand opening of the Tactical Roar official site. This Friday (November 4th) will see the first episode of its web radio online, if you’re into that sort of thing.
- Maid Cafe Mailish switches from their Gunparade Orchestra theme to Lamune to see the end of Akiba Entamatsuri.
- [NOT ANIME] 4gamer.net has a special up which documents, quite exhaustively, the appeal of Konami’s Tokimeki Memorial Online.
- [NOT ANIME] First there was Moetan, then Maritan. The latest contender to enter the increasingly cluttered fray of books purported to teach English to people who have trouble speaking to others aside from shouting angrily at their mothers to put food by the door and leave them alone is Moegaku, “fifty days of English idioms”. The art is nowhere near POP quality, but I’ll probably pick it up anyway; maybe they’ll get a native speaker to do the translations this time (not bloody likely, but still).
- Telecom Anime continues its fascinating glimpse into the world of anime production, starting with design sketches and currently up to color picking and compositing. They also have a glossary of industry jargon here – all in Japanese, unfortunately.
- In web radio news, Paniponi Dash radio will begin broadcast on Monday, November 7th. For those who can’t wait that long, the 15th episode of Mahoraba’s web radio is online now.
- Toei’s One Piece movie site is online, and Production I.G has updated its xxxholic movie content as well.
Ero Side
- West Vision has sites up for its December 22nd release of Chichi Celeb [sample CG] and its February 17th release of Yadorimushi [sample CG].
- Game Magazine’s Doujin Game Guide has a review online of Soft Circle Courreges‘ recent release, Yobidashi! Subject.
- In eroanime news, November 25th will see the release of Yakin Byoutou Kranke Nanase Ren from Discovery. I’ve utterly lost track of Ren-related releases so this may be a redundant announcement. The 25th will also see the release of Green Bunny’s Maid in Heaven SuperS vol. 2, which was updated today with some production stills. Also, D3 notes that volumes three of Inbo and Inko respectively will be on sale November 18th.
- S.M.L’s Re: has its release date set for January 17th.
- The December issue of Dengeki G’s Magazine carries an exclusive scoop on Key‘s newly-announced “Little Busters”.
- New Site Launches
- Lilith’s Sensei wa Jo-oh-sama
- Roll’s School Festa [official site]
- Sample CG
- Studio Ryokucha’s Princess Serenade [official site]
- Kashiwatou’s Glass no Naka no Hotaru
- Wallpapers
- Akabee Soft’s Sharin no Kuni, Himawari no Shoujo
- Clockup’s Kuro no Utahime and Guilty’s Wana [via Dengeki Hime]
- Ankh’s November calendar
- [NOT ERO] Broccoli’s Cross World
Figure Side
- This item has been more thoroughly covered over at ANS already, but a quick note that you can now smell like Asuka and/or Rei if you so desire. No worries, it’s unisex! Or sex-repellant, perhaps. Warning: discontinue use if memory loss, spontaneous cloning, or death by hanging occurs.
- This is one worth paying attention to: Alter and Max Factory have made official announcements regarding their February 2006 release schedule, and things are looking pretty hot for the PVC lovers. From Alter comes the one-two punch of this gun-toting Meg from Bakuretsu Tenshi, and this plainclothes Saber with one foot bare, holding her sandal in a manner that is dare I say coquettish? Max Factory strikes back with this thumbs-up Tokiha Mai from My HiME, and the third item in their GIRL FIGHTING collection, this improbably proportioned Chun Li.
- [ERO] Not to be left behind, Toys Planning scoops the January release of its Minamino Nanami PVC (say that three times fast) with strategically placed band-aids, hailing from Marmalade’s Konneko. They also have this Kamio Misuzu PVC kit from Air on sale today, for those who can stomach the downs.
Tomorrow is Culture Day, one of Japan’s numerous national holidays of questionable origin. I intend to use it in a highly cultural way, though perhaps not the one for which it was originally intended; the fruits of any such endeavor should wind up documented here.
The BakuTen anime was pretty poopie, but my oh my were the girls dripping of hotness. Ugetsu Hakua himself would soaked his pants at the sight of that gorgeous Meg PVC, much like I did. ALTER as of late have been firing on all cylinders with their recent and future catalogue; I’m really beginning to both love and hate them.
Alter has only existed for a very short while; the recently released Maia and Alvis PVCs were only their second and third kits, iirc. I agree with you, they’ve certainly entered the arena at a very high standard. I think I’ll pass on the Meg, though; if it were a Sei, perhaps in swimsuit, then we’d be talking (hold out hopes).
