Anime Side
- Moon Phase reports that Shinigami no Ballad and Hanbun no Tsuki ga Noboru Sora will air on WOWOW starting in January 2006.
- TBS confirms that Binchou-tan will be airing on the network in Spring 2006.
- Information is online regarding the contents of Majikyuu vol. 20, released on October 25th. With Moeoh stepping down in December, Majikyuu will reign uncontested over the quarterly moe art magazine domain. I don’t know if I have it in me to make the switch…
Ero Side
- Waffle’s official Nukenin site updates with some background CG images and a couple more character introductions. They’re sticking to the strategy of releasing the real substantive preview material in Tech Gian, alas.
- It’s not often that I stumble onto an overlooked eroge, much less an entire brand, but Trust and their upcoming release of Eshi [sample CG] [demo movie and trial version] has shown me up. Trust already has a couple of titles to its name (Lust and Cross) that I’m sure I’ve seen glimpses of before, but never tracked down online; perhaps the maker’s connection with Stellar, the last company I overlooked, explains its stealthy presence (or lack thereof).
- Artel and its upcoming Horizont don’t count as being overlooked, because the brand’s site just launched last week and they haven’t had any magazine presence whatsoever. Ceaseless vigilance does have its limits. I really like the designs for this, by the way. [artist site]
- GameMagazine reports on a pair of December 2nd releases, the first being the Harvest Hot Gimmick Collection, four games in the Xnauts Hot Gimmick series released as a bundle for 11,340 yen. The second Harvest release is this ADV bundle, featuring Revive ~Sousei~, Gap P, and Manatsu no Tobira for 7,140 yen.
- In eroanime news, TinkerBell’s Hitozuma Kasumi OVA has some production stills online today. These mean precisely nothing when it comes to the animation, but hold out hopes…
- New Site Launches
- Liar Soft’s Salvatore!
- FlyingShine’s Kurai Mirai 3 [official site]
- Ninetail’s Kikaijikake Eve [sample CG]
- Demo Downloads
- Waffle’s Toubousha Dokujima Nero
- Studio Ryokucha’s Princess Serenade
- Wallpapers
- Unisonshift’s Halloween special
- Propeller’s Ayakashibito
- Stoneheads’ Maid in Heaven SuperS
Figure Side
- On Sale Today: Megahouse’s Rain and Fine PVC kits from Fushigi Boshi no Futago Hime.
- Hobby Japan’s Queen’s Blade book battle page has been updated with sample images (the blue-circled “1” “2” and “3”) from the first book to be released on November 25th, the My-HiME inspired Reina. [production sketches]
- Get them while they’re hot: 2chan’s Mokei Ura board is sporting photos from October 30th’s World Hobby Festival 22 in Kobe. This [ERO] montage is of special note (warning: link may expire without notice). Also [ERO]: I’d recognize that posterior in an instant… Tempting me to buy another model that I don’t have the skill to paint, eh Vispo? You heartless bastard.
- Rakuten’s Tecmo online shop has some very nice shots of the upcoming Super Blackjack Collection 2 trading figures. リオちゃん色っぽいな…
Shingo, there are professional model painters out there, you know…
Like I always say: “If you want something done right, get a professional to do it.”
True enough. I was exaggerating somewhat in today’s post, though; I’ve already invested a fair bit in painting paraphernalia, and it would be a damn shame to let it sit around idle (should I ever finish the queue of models I already have racked up). A pro-quality paint job is far beyond my current skill, but the mediocrity of the final product is offset by the sense of accomplishment gained from seeing a project through from start to finish. That’s what I’ve found so far, anyway, with only three kits under my belt; and as expensive as the painting process is, hiring someone else to do it would certainly break the bank (already struggling under the drain of the figures themselves).
Now if you could buy them pre-painted for the same price as the unpainted kits, then we’d be talking.
