In today’s update: another Urushihara figure I can unquestionably stand behind, a Jobsian Brave New World anime experience, a “legitimate” Japanese PC game and an image update for the Kimura Takehiro-designed eroge Ano Machi no Koi no Shi. Will wonders never cease?

Anime Side

  • The Joushikousei TV anime gets an official site today, and is set to make its on-air debut in April 2006.
  • Ufotable opens a new section of its website today dubbed Tartan Check, which in the near future (WAIT! SOOOON!) will play host to the studio staff’s manga side endeavors.
  • News is steadily flowing from various Akihabara ENTA Matsuri events, including the introduction of various upcoming animated items. This image in particular caught my attention, similar to the (in)famous Steve Jobs dwarfed by Bill Gates image from the ’97 Macworld Expo, only with an entirely different, and perhaps more ironic, connotation.
  • Today’s web radio roundup includes an (old) episode of My Otome, some To Heart 2 and a dash of GaoGaiGar Final.
  • For those keeping track of the miniscule “legitimate” Japanese PC game market, Nihon Falcom’s Xanadu Next RPG went on sale yesterday. Looks like a pretty cool title, from the reviews.

Ero Side

Figure Side

  • [ERO] Far and away today’s biggest figure announcement is the January 2006 release of this Toys Planning Faye PVC from the Urushihara Satoshi / Moon Rock Front Innocent OVA.
  • On Sale Today

Both of the latter are already apparently sold out from Hobbynet and most other retailers. They’re slated to be released again in December and January, though, so there is yet hope for those of us that missed the preorder cutoff.

It may be just me, but the fact that strong character associations already exist with Kimura Takehiro’s designs really helps bring out the appeal of today’s seemingly innocuous Ano Machi no Koi no Shi image update. I’m eagerly anticipating the future of this title…
