Omnibus post! Amaenaideyo ep. 2, first glimpse of Fate anime, Weekly Web Radio Roundup, ero movie and CG updates, Saber action figure preorder madness, a horde of figure news including upcoming release dates and new items (Kujibiki Unbalance Palm Characters, Yamato Shipon PVC, Samurai Champloo and Monkey Punch, etc).
Anime Side
- The first episode of Petopeto-san aired last night, and the second episode of Amaenaideyo! was yesterday morning. The latter was a mixed bag; the production quality in a couple of the scenes dropped to what one usually associates with mid-season doldrums but was redeemed by a few quality fanservice shots. Episode three will be swimsuits and the removal thereof; they certainly know how to keep me watching.
- I got the chance to watch the first episode of SHUFFLE! yesterday, and while it seems innocuous enough (for a harem show) it lacked anything near the service levels of Amaenaideyo! or Okusama wa Mahou Shoujo. According to Moon Phase the story is likely to devolve into dramabomb 101, so unless I hear news of quality Nerine fanservice in the offing later on I think this is where I part ways with the franchise.
- The official site for the Production I.G/Cartoon Network coproduced racing anime IGPX is online.
- Weekly Web Radio Roundup
- Mahoraba Web Radio ep. 13
- Futakoi Melt Collective ep. 9
- Rozen Maiden Garden Party ep. 5
- Kiminozo Radio ep. 15
- August’s Comptiq is out and might be worth picking up for the included 100 page Fate/secret book, although Saber looks vaguely menacing with that corn on the cob. Alternatively, you could go to one of these attractive anime schools.
- Speaking of Saber, this month’s Newtype Japan features a two page spread on the upcoming 2006 Fate anime. SCREENSHOTS BANZAI [1] [2]
- Gin-iro no Kami no Agito‘s official site will go nuts on July 23rd, so keep it bookmarked for whatever goodies will show up then. Meanwhile, why not watch the trailer a second (or third, or fourth) time?

Figure Side
- Cry havoc: Spring’s Asai-sculpted Saber action figure is now available for preorder, but get this. Not only do you have to preorder the item, but you then have to come to an event where it’s being sold (presumably the Bishoujo Figure Convention Tokyo 2005 on September 25th, although the event isn’t even specified), stand in line, and hope they don’t sell out of an item you have already preordered and travelled to Tokyo to obtain before you get to the head of the line. Because, you know, they might not stock enough for the preorders they’ve accepted. Aside from taking these steps there is no way to obtain the item unless you’re willing to take the chance that someone will offer theirs up for ridiculous brain-popping auction prices on Yahoo. I don’t know whether to laugh or cry at this.
- The Tsukuyomi Palm Scenery figures scooped yesterday will be released in September, not August [a bit higher resolution]. Thank goodness. You’ll also note, at the top of the page, a set of Suigetsu swimsuit Palm Characters which will be an August event-only release. May have to pick those up at Wonder Festival… Also: Kujibiki Unbalance Palm Characters in September?!
- The few. The proud. The top image and gallery updates.
- Yamato weighs in next January with this Shipon PVC from Uchuu no Stellvia. Is it just me, or does it look like this is based off designs by Soyosoyo?
- The Knight Sabers are back and available for preorder with a vengeance. [Celia – September release] [Linna – August release] [Nene – September release] [Priss – August release] [official Atolier Aya site]
- Check out these higher-res color images of the September release Aki and Natsumi Keroro Gunsou PVCs from Megahouse! Also, Keroro puppets.
- Also from Megahouse at the end of September is the second series of Petit SEED Destiny figures. I’ll take the Meer, if you please.
- Yamato beefs up its Story Image Figure collection with the late September release of this Samurai Champloo set along with the November release of these Monkey Punch Heroines.

Shichinin no Online Gamers Release Countdown: 13 days
…I’m pretty sure this post is a personal record of some kind.
[…] Two juicy updates from Shingo […]
I’m in tears about the fact I’ll probably never have that Saber action figure in my Fate figure collection ;~;
I’m wrestling with whether to preorder it or not. It’s a rather grotesque investment of time and money for an item which has thus far only been seen in unpainted prototype, but it looks so nice… ;_;
The insanity of the Mahoraba radio dramas never ceases to amaze me. Shiraishi Ryoko is one of the craziest women alive.
Arai Satomi too. Those girls must steal my energy and use it as I listen.
