what a glorious feeling

I’ve started to fill out the contents of the various “Coming Attractions” pages in the sidebar. The information there is pretty much tailored to my interests and not at all comprehensive; if you find you enjoy some of the same things I do it might be useful to you, otherwise you can no doubt find your news elsewhere. If you have suggestions for items I may have overlooked in any of the categories, please don’t hesitate to post them to comments; I try to keep tabs on things as best I can but it’s inevitable that some good releases will fall through the cracks. At a later date (hopefully soon) I plan to more thoroughly describe the “aesthetic” or whatever it is in my brain that tells me what to put over there. Should be good for a laugh.

And now, the news:

  • [ANIME] Click on “PLAY 2” for another 30 second promo for Gun Sword. This one has silhouettes of the characters interspersed between lines of text, which is better than nothing. In related news it seems, based on a poster included with Dengeki Animaga 17, that the character designs for this will be done by Takahiro Kimura of Betterman/GaoGaiGar/Godannar fame. Certainly one of the more anticipated shows of the year, in my book at least.
  • [ANIME] Goths, Yaoi fangirls and Noto Mamiko devotees mark your calendars: Trinity Blade starts tomorrow.
  • [EROGE] A grand total of 32 (thirty-two) eroge are being released tomorrow, April 28th, and Galge.com has a rundown of all of them here.
  • [EROGE] From Key, the maker of Clannad, Kanon, and Air comes a new title: Tomoyo After ~It’s a Wonderful Life~.
  • [EROGE] A demo movie is available for Kyouhaku 2, Ail-Soft’s contribution to tomorrow’s huge batch of releases.
  • [EROGE] Pai-Mega has a few new sample CG images up here.
  • [OST] Audio samples from the Maria-sama ga Miteru ~Haru~ Image Album vol. 1 are available here.
  • [FIGURE] It seems that Max Factory is launching a contender in the battle of the Kaicho sukumizu. Streeting for 4,500 yen (tax included) in the middle of August, how will it stack up against Toranoana’s offering? I’m leaning toward Toranoana’s better priced, better proportioned and earlier release, but only time will tell.
  • [MECHAZAWA] A “bead cushion” Mechazawa will be available at select theaters as part of a promotion for the live-action Sakigake! Cromartie High School movie opening this summer.
