saturday morning cartoon edition
In an unexpected turn of events, it appears that Shiarobo once again has an extra circle ticket and has invited me to tag along with him and Eima to Futaket tomorrow. I still haven’t quite adjusted to the concept but it’s an exciting prospect, especially seeing as I won’t have to get up at three in the morning this time around.
To clarify a bit of confusion, Futaket is tomorrow (March 20th) and is a small convention (188 registered circles) established as a venue for the sale of dickgirl doujinshi. Comiket Special is on Monday (March 21st), and is a much larger affair consisting of two waves of doujin sales cycling through the Big Sight as well as several other events, live acts, anime screenings, etc. I probably won’t be going to this, so check out Jx2C’s blog for more information.
ANIME IS
- There is a trailer for Futakoi Alternative up here. I was pleasantly shocked to see a high production budget and hints of an appealing, serious narrative as opposed to the insipid harem crap that the TV series was; this is an item I’ll be keeping my eye on for sure – if only to figure out what’s going on with the random FLCL-esque action sequence in the middle of the trailer. It reminds me a bit of what I’ve seen of the Air movie, which I need to remember to watch when it comes out on DVD…
- Ichigo Mashimaro anime broadcast information updated on the official website. Looks like we’ve got a July launch on TBS.
- If you liked Urda, check out TANK S.W.A.T 01.
Eroge Corner
- Thanks to Cortana for tipping me off on this one: Illusion strikes again with Battle Raper 2
- Front Wing has the promo movie for the second Jibril game up here
- Alice Soft’s Pastel Chime Continue is a sword and sorcery renai relationship-building RPG.
- Another day, another M no Violet nurse game
- Meido-san wa Hitozuma for the [bb] [milf] fans
- FlyingShine Kuro presents Kurai Mirai 2. If the name didn’t tip you off, this game is “dark.”
- In keeping with the kuro theme, Clockup’s Kuroai is being animated by Green Bunny
- Kurosawa Akira is spinning, spinning in his grave
- Gratuitous Shichinin no Online Gamers link (Kurosawa might be wobbling a bit here, but he likes it)
Rit-chan Update
After being filed, shaved, sanded, pinned, puttied and filed again, Rit-chan was ready for surfacing and priming, both of which I did yesterday afternoon. It wasn’t a perfect job, but hopefully the required hand touch-ups won’t look too hideous. I can now start the actual painting process, which may happen today if I’m feeling particularly adventurous.
Tentatively forthcoming: Futaket report, thoughts on Mave-chan, live-action Gokusen, the Tenjou Tenge OVA, and Comic Revolution episode 4.
By the way, if you’re interested in seeing the air movie at the cinema, I just saw it last night in Ikebukuro at one of the movie theaters there(it’s on the main road from the station that goes towards toranoana, a bit after the crossing towards toranoana). It was very good. I presume it will still be showing there for a while, but dunno. Entrance is 1800 for a “standard person”
